MOVING CHECKLIST IN ASSOCIATION WITH ROBINSONS REMOVALS
4 Weeks Before Moving Have You: q Completed a change of address form with the Post Office to re-route mail q Informed magazines, book and record clubs of your new address q Decided which items you would like to donate to charity – remember Robinsons participate in the Oxboxx scheme which means we will take all donated items to Oxfam on your behalf q Informed water, gas and electricity suppliers to have your services turned off after your departure q Made arrangements at your new home for utility connections q Informed Schools, Church, Clubs and any other organisations of your impending move
3 Weeks Before Moving Have You: q Requested any packing materials you require from Robinsons if you wish to pack any items yourself q Made a list of contact names and telephone numbers you will need when you move into your new home q Considered plants and pets on moving day – Robinsons can provide a helpful leaflet q Disposed of items you do not require in your new home q Returned borrowed things and collected things you’ve loaned to friends q Made arrangements for servicing your appliances q Contacted carpet cleaners if required q Notified Doctor, Dentist, Optician q Started to run down the contents of your freezer q Made a sketch plan of your new home to determine placement of furnishings q Transferred insurance to cover fire, theft and personal property at your new home q Considered attending a car boot sale to dispose of items you do not require in your new home
2 Weeks Before Moving Have You: q Disposed of flammables such as petrol, matches, cleaning fluids, bleach and aerosol cans q Discontinued regular services such as newspapers, window cleaning etc q Made arrangements to have satellite dish moved to new property q Informed friends and family of your new address – Robinsons can provide change of address cards q Arranged for fitted carpets to be professionally loosened
1 Week Before Moving Have You: q Transferred bank and savings accounts to avoid losing interest q Made arrangements to discontinue your telephone service and establish a phone service at your new home q Arranged for rugs and curtains to be cleaned q Used up your frozen food supply or made arrangements to give it away q Drained fuel from lawnmowers and other power equipment q Packed/emptied your loft/sheds q Found and labelled keys
1 Day Before Moving Have You: q Defrosted and thoroughly cleaned the refrigerator q Taken down pictures and mirrors q Disconnected your cooker, washing machine and dishwasher q Taken down curtains and blinds q Arranged minders for children and pets
Moving Day - Relax! And Let Robinsons Do All The Work But Remember To: q Disconnect light fittings q Make sure plants are drained of excess water q Make sure you have personally taken jewellery and cash with you to your new home q Lock all windows and doors - turn off all switches before leaving
